Kuroda-Grauer, the Athletics' 10th-ranked prospect, is the most intriguing piece, but his potential is somewhat capped as a shortstop with good contact skills but limited power. Milone, ranked 25th, projects as a bench player at best.
And this is the part most people miss... This trade discussion isn't just about the perceived inadequacy of the return; it's about the Pirates' strategic decisions. They've already thinned out their starting pitching depth twice this offseason, trading Mike Burrows and Johan Oviedo.
