The Australian punter, a Sydney native, had just moved to Melbourne, Australia, and was determined to make a name for himself in the world of American football. Despite being overlooked at the national and rookie drafts for Australian rules football, Dickson's passion and talent led him to pursue punting as an alternative. With a strong background in kicking and a desire to improve, he joined a tryout event for Prokick in Sydney, where he met co-founder Nathan Chapman. Chapman recognized Dickson's potential and described him as "super professional." This marked the beginning of Dickson's remarkable journey, which would eventually lead him to become the NFL's highest-paid punter and a key player in the Seattle Seahawks' success.
